Hey, this is a great scene. Another dummy scene, if memory serves, takes place at the end of the mid-'70s Gene Hackman movie NIGHT MOVES (dir., Arthur Penn). At the end of the movie, a woman gets her head and face seemingly splattered into mush by the hull of a float plane. And then there is also poor David Warner being decapitated at the end of the original (and best) OMEN movie (1976, dir., Richard Donner). Another "dummy" factoid that I learned recently was that they had a lifesize dummy made of little Danny Lloyd for Shelley Duvall to carry in her arms in the scene in THE SHINING when she finds choke marks on Danny's neck and blames Jack Torrance (Nicholson, of course) for it . . . I wonder if that dummy is still sitting somewhere. Anyway, John Tabacco told me about this blog and I think it's one of the greatest things I've seen in a while here online. Major kudos!!!

Funny story. I was having lunch one day with Mike Weldon (of Psychotronic fame) and SFX man Tom Rainone and Rainone told the story of how he once met Joe Pesci and told him that he had obtained the dummy made of Pesci for his death scene in CASINO. And in trademark Pesci fashion, the actor barked "Whaddya do... fuck it?"
